Sorrow and Starlight: Zodiac Academy 8

During his Cardinal Magic class, Milton Hubert, a Minotaur and student at Zodiac Academy, listens as Mildred Canopus leads the class in cheering about the slaughter of Minotaurs during the recent battle. Milton and a fellow Minotaur, Bernice, remain silent, knowing that they’ll be punished if they object.

Later, Milton and Bernice sneak into a hidden underground space where a secret resistance group of students, the Undercover Almighty Sovereign Society (A.S.S.), meets. Gary, a Manticore, breaks the news that Lionel killed Darius. Milton then rallies the group by telling them that he took a trip into town to get a secure smartphone from Portia Silverstone, a rebel journalist. They plan to use it to leak information about the academy’s corrupt practices, but they are interrupted by a knock on the hideout door. Marguerite Helebor, a known member of the Lionel-supporting King’s United Nebular Taskforce (K.U.N.T.), warns them that Mildred is hunting Milton. The resistance members escape through a secret tunnel. When Milton questions why Marguerite would save them, she says that it’s because she loved Darius.
